Deepal is our specialist in respect of all matters family law and civil litigation. Her area of expertise extends to relationship property and estate management. Deepal regularly appears in the Family Court and is highly regarded by her peers as an expert in this area of law, where she has accumulated over 16 years of experience.
Deepal is able to assist and advise on all matters relating to contracting out agreements, separation and relationship property agreements, issuing and defending proceedings in the Family Court including applications for the division of relationship property, applications for the sale of the family home, applications for occupation orders, and defending claims for economic disparity.
When it comes to proceedings under the Care of Children Act, Deepal is able to negotiate day to day care and contact arrangements (including filing without notice applications for interim parenting orders and orders preventing the removal of children from New Zealand), resolve disputes between guardians, and file applications for the appointment of additional guardians. Additionally, she is capable of representing and defending clients in cases involving Oranga Tamariki.
Deepal also regularly files applications for temporary protection orders and defends clients whom orders have been issued against. She has on many occasions defended applications for spousal maintenance and application for dissolution.
Outside of work, Deepal is involved in the community with various charitable causes and is passionate about the people in her community.
